Oregon Pinot Noir

I'm an Oregonian at heart and it has always been my inclination to rave about Oregon products.  Now here's one I'm very proud of:  Oregon Pinot Noirs.

They have some of the best Pinot Noirs in the world and they're only getting better each year.  Now heading up to the Willamette Valley or any of the other Oregon Appellations is not something I can do on a Sunday afternoon.

However, I can take a fun little 30 minute drive into the Santa Cruz Mountains up to David Bruce Winery. And how fortunate I am that their edict is to "make the world's finest Pinot Noir".  Now, it's not Oregon Pinot Noir but I find their wines to be exceptional.  Everytime I open up a bottle I ended up saying to myself "This is an awesome wine".

With Pinot Noirs and only a 30 minute drive it seemed very appropriate to join their Private Cellar Club.  Now I get 2-3 bottles of wine every 2 months and David Bruce has become a resident as the house wine at Frobisher Fare

Wineries

I don't like to buy wines in the stores anymore without knowing what the wine tastes like.  This attitude has promoted a sort of addictive behavior of traveling to wineries and tasting.  I've been to a handful of wineries up and down the west coast.  Take a look some of the wineries I've visited and then glance the wine list   I've gathered over the last 4 years.  (Pictured on the right is attempt at Zinfandel.  I'm only playing around, but I want to see how grape vines grow.  What they look like, how they behave, how much water they need, what kind of bugs like them.  Not pictured is my Sauvignon Blanc vine.)
